Wilma Daniels

May 6, 1930 — January 19, 2013

Biography Wilma Darlene Perkins Daniels FERRON - Wilma Darlene Perkins Daniels, age 82, passed away January 19, 2013 in Ferron, UT. She was born May 6, 1930 to Thomas F. Ross and Clora Crabtree in Pine Knot, KY. She married Jack A. Perkins on July 25, 1947 in Whitley City, KY. Jack passed away on October 29, 1991. She later married Grant P. Daniels on April 19, 2002 in Huntington, UT. Wilma grew up during the hard times of the depression, where early on in life she learned the value of hard work and the necessity of pulling her own weight. For several years her family would move between Kentucky and Florida following the fruit and vegetable harvests picking wherever they could. She carried this work ethic on into every aspect of her life, whether it was keeping a home, raising her children, as a beautician, driving a school bus, giving loving care to her mother and our father and two other ladies during their last days, The Manti Temple, at the Emery County Care Center, or the Museum of the San Rafael, she always gave it her all. Wilma was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She was easy to get along with and made friends wherever she went. Mom was loved by all who knew her because she was honest and didn't say a bad thing about anyone. She was fiercely independent and had a stubborn streak. When she made up her mind she wasn't going to change it. Wilma was a very meticulous individual who always spoke her mind. She always looked on the bright side of things and took pleasure in reading Louis L'Amour books. She truly enjoyed a good joke and loved sitting around the table visiting with family and friends and spending quality time with them especially when they were kids. Her kids are going to miss her blackberry cobbler, and chicken and dumplings. Wilma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and worked at the Manti LDS Temple for 4 years. A tribute here has to be given to her husband Grant Daniels. Without Grant's loving and tender care, Mom would have lived in the nursing home for many of her last years. We appreciate all his hard work. She is survived by her husband, Grant P. Daniels; children: Kirk (Kathy) Perkins of Ferron, UT, Thomas Perkins of Apache Junction, AZ, and Chet (Baina) Perkins of Piqua, OH; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; children: Cathie Maynes and Susan Dieter; 1 brother; and 4 sisters. A viewing will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (720 North Center Street - Castle Dale, UT.) Funeral Services will be held at a later date in Ohio. Interment will be in the Smith Cemetery in Christiansburg, OH. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
