Vicki Jeanne Anhder Nielsen suffered a stroke on February 5, 2022 and passed away due to complications on February 21, 2022 while surrounded by her family.
Vicki was born January 20, 1955 in Billings, Montana to Letitia Allen and Theo Anhder. Vicki spent her early years in Montana, Alaska, New Mexico, and Maryland. She later moved to Utah and graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. After her graduation, she moved to Emery County and started teaching at Ferron Elementary where she taught for nearly 33 years. She loved to learn and eventually received a master's degree from Utah State University as well as completing many endorsements in different areas of education.
On June 2, 1978 she married Craig Eric Nielsen in the Manti, Utah Temple. They built a home on the family farm in Rock Canyon. Vicki and Craig were blessed with two children, Tisha Lee Thornley and Erik Craig Nielsen.
Vicki loved working with the youth both at school as well as in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Young Women program where she served over 12 years as the Young Women President and numerous years as camp director. Throughout her career as an educator and through her church callings, she influenced and impacted countless lives both young and old. She was currently serving as the Relief Society President in the Blue Hills Ward.
Vicki loved outdoor activities including camping, hiking, hunting arrowheads, riding dune buggies and four wheelers and exploring the San Rafael Desert with her family.
Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She attended numerous ball games, recitals, concerts, matches, and any other activity where they were involved. She also loved planning family activities for every holiday and spoiling the grandkids every chance she got.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Craig Eric Nielsen, daughter Tisha Lee (Justin) Thornley, and son Erik Craig (Brianna) Nielsen, all of Clawson, Utah. Sister Dana (Tim) Evans of Colorado. Grandchildren Easton, Mason, Vance, Swayzie, Chloe, Bailey, Koen, Bodie, and Hallie, many brothers and sisters in law, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Theo and Letitia Anhder, niece Mistie Nielsen Meyers, best friend Sharon Jensen, as well as many uncles and aunts.
Funeral services will be held at the Blue Hills Ward Building (35 West 200 North) in Ferron, Utah on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service. A viewing will also be held Friday February 25, 2022 from 5:00- 7:00 pm at the church building in Ferron. Funeral will be live-streamed on Fausett Mortuary Facebook page. Interment will follow at the Ferron Cemetery entrusted to Fausett Mortuary.
