VERNA CLOWARD NUNLEY
11/23/1929 - 6/9/2016
Verna started life in Chester, Utah, the second child of Willis D and Iris Buchanan Cloward. The children Fern, Verna, Clyde and LaMar, were raised on the family dairy farm in Chester and attended school in Sanpete County. Verna married Kenneth Guy Nunley, June 12, 1947 in Mount Pleasant. Ken and Verna moved to Price in 1949. Kenneth passed away May 25, 1998.
Verna and Kenneth raised Linda (Dale) Andrews, Shirley (John) Alger, Paul (Lori) Nunley. Grandchildren: Randi (LeRoy) Nielson, Aundra Powell, Jeanie (Matt) Willson, Cody (Laura) Nunley, Landy (Janet) Alger, Nikki (Aaron) Palacios, TJ (Heidi) Nunley, Kristi (John) Fazzio, Jared (Alissa) Alger, Tiffany (Whitney) Johnson. 27 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, 6 step grandchildren and 16 step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband, sister, great granddaughter, Chelsea Kae Palacios, and special partner James Blundell.
Verna made many friends working as a waitress at local cafes, and as the hostess at the Price Elks Club. Verna and husband Ken worked alongside each other as custodians at Petersen Elementary School in Sunnyside. Verna and Ken owned Verna's Club in East Carbon until retiring to a life of leisure.
Mom and Dad spent many years boating and camping with family and friends at Lake Powell, the Friendship Cruise, as Snowbirds and their home away from home in Scofield. She will be greatly missed.
A viewing will be held Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm and also Monday, June 20, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Fausett Mortuary. Graveside services on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 11:30 am at the Price City Cemetery for family and friends. Services are entrusted to Fausett Mortuary.
