Vaunda Robertson Troyer, age 69, passed away in her sleep on September 16, 2024 at home in Reno Nevada.

Vaunda was born on December 27, 1954 in Price, Utah to Wilburn “Buck” and Sarah Robertson.

She attended school in Orangeville and Manti, Utah and graduated from Emery High School.

She married Roger Troyer in 1957 and they resided in Orangeville where Vaunda gave birth to Ryan Lynn and Richard Lee, her step-son came to live with them. They later moved to Nebraska where Ashley Cora was born.

They were living in Hayes, Kansas when their house burned to the ground. Ryan and Ashley were killed in the fire and Richard went back to live with his mother. Roger and Vaunda divorced, and she came home to Utah. After years of grief and pain she went to Wendover, Utah where Barbara and family were, to move on. Vaunda didn’t seem to get a break and yet she never complained. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. Later in life she had health issues and lived with a lot of pain.

Vaunda got a job as an auditor for the Peppermill Casino in Wendover and later transferred to the Reno, Nevada casino. She worked for them for twenty-two years, retiring in 2023. Vaunda was highly respected at her job and made many friends. She was always kind to others and lived a good life.

She met and lived with Tom Scott for most of the time in Reno. They were good to each other and had a good time together.

Survived by her significant other, Thomas Scott; sisters, Deanna Harris and Barbara Hammond; brother, Royce (Denise) Robertson; sisters-in-law, Merlene Robertson and Bert Gove; she grew up with and is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her children, Ryan Lynn and Ashley Cora; parents, Wilburn “Buck” and Sarah Robertson; sister, Carolyn; brother-in-law, Dale Jensen; brothers, Cloyd and Gordon Robertson; brothers-in-law, Kent Peterson, Tom Hammond, Chuck Harris; nephew, Dee Fillmore.

Graveside service, Saturday, October 12, 2024, 11:00 a.m., Orangeville City Cemetery. Arrangements are in the trusted care of Fausett Mortuaries where family and friends are always welcome and may share memories online at www.fausettmortuary.com.
