Thelma Pierce

Thelma S. Thayn Pierce Wellington- Thelma S. Thayn Pierce, age 90, passed away on September 12, 2011 in Price, Utah. She was born to George Lester and Mary Georgia Worley Thayn on November 12, 1920 in Wellington, Utah. She married Lewis Lavor Pierce on May 12, 1941 in Cleveland, Utah and was later sealed in May of 1964 in the Manti LDS Temple. Thelma had many hobbies and interests, which included oil painting, reading and genealogy. She helped publish two history books. Thelma wrote article's for the Sun Advocate for over 20 years. She was an Avon representative for many years. Thelma was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers; she enjoyed being in the cabin on the 24th of July celebration in Wellington. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, also a life long resident of Carbon County and an active life long Democrat. Her children and Grandchildren gave her the greatest joy. She is survived by her children: Lewis Wade (Beverly) Pierce of West Valley, Utah, Leatrice (Ray) Reddington of Wellington, Louise (Lenard) Jones of Wellington, Shelley Malmgren of Salt Lake City, Utah, a brother, John Thayn of Las Vegas, Nevada, sisters: Georgia (Ribail) Motte of Wellington, Lena (David) Jones of Hurricane, Utah, 14 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and five brothers. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellington LDS 1st Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price, Utah, and Saturday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church in Wellington prior to the services. Interment will be in the Wellington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Friends and family may sign the guest book and share memories of Thelma at www.fausettmortuary.com.
