Stanley Phil Larson
CLEVELAND - Stanley Phil Larson, 73, of Cleveland, Utah peacefully passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 surrounded by his loving family and friends at Intermountain Hospital due to complications after a massive stroke.
Born July 1, 1942 in St. George, Utah to Willard D. and Agnes Virginia Smith Larson. He married his lifelong soul mate Alda "Darleen" Swasey in Cleveland, Utah March 28, 1964 and later sealed in the Manti Temple on March 27, 1994.
Stan grew up in and around Carbon and Emery Counties spending the majority of his life in Cleveland, Utah. He graduated from North Emery High School class of 1960.
He worked for many years as a coal miner, spent a lot of time working the family farm and loved to plant and grow a huge bountiful garden to share with anyone who wanted. He had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish and was especially fond of the many deep sea fishing trips he took with his family. He loved camping, 4-wheeling and family get together in Joes Valley and most of all he loved to plan yearly hunting trips with his sons. He had several church callings but especially enjoyed being a home teacher and ward librarian.
Stan was a loving, hardworking, fair and honest man. He spent his lifetime putting family first and always thinking of others. He had a sharp wit and a great sense of humor and will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Survived by his wife of 52 years, Darleen of Cleveland and four children; son Alan E. Larson, daughter Sharon E. Larson, sons Ronald D. Larson and Ken J. Larson (Marci Snow Larson) 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, brother Edward (Donna) Larson and sister Pamela "Perky" (Gerald) Bell and a close family friend who he consider to be part of the family Dwight Atkinson (Honeylyn) and boys, Justin (Cortni) Miller and boys. Preceded in death by his parents and 4 infant sisters.
Funeral Services will be held in the Cleveland 2nd Ward, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing 1 hour prior to services. There will also be a viewing held Friday, June 24, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Cleveland Church. Interment will be in the Cleveland City Cemetery entrusted to Fausett Mortuary.
