Shirley Gilbert

Shirley Pehrson Gilbert Shirley Pehrson Gilbert, 87, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2015 after a lengthy illness at the Pinnacle Nursing & Rehab Center in Price. She was born November 18, 1928 in Price, Utah to Peter Hans & Nellie May Nelson Pehrson. She attended local schools and received her degree as a LPN. Shirley married her husband Ralph "Sonny" Gilbert on May 2, 1947 in Price. She was employed at the old Price Hospital and later at the Castleview Hospital. She cared for many residents of the area over the years prior to her retirement in 1994 after 35 years of faithful service. Shirley was also a member of the Helper Lions Club Ladies Auxiliary, the Carbon Emery Motorcycle Association and the License Practical Nurses Association. Shirley was a member of the Helper Ward in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Survivors include her sons Ralph Kent (Karyn) Gilbert of Price and Ricky Hans Gilbert of West Hollywood, CA; her grandchildren Kelly (Matt) Squires and Victor (Lisa) Turner; great grandchildren Jake Knighton, Tyler Knighton, Isabella Turner and Drake Squires. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Evelyn Moyer, brothers in law Glinn Gilbert, Bill Gilbert, and a sister in law Jane Berneche. Funeral services will be held at the Fausett Mortuary Chapel in Price on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 1:00 pm with a viewing at the funeral home an hour prior to services. Interment will follow in the Helper City Mt View Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Fausett Mortuary of Price.
