Robert Riley

December 20, 1924 — July 6, 2021

Robert (Bob) M Riley, son of the late Hannah Reynolds Riley and Robert Riley, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2021 in Price, Utah. Robert was born December 20, 1924 in Clawson, Utah. Robert was the 6th child out of 9. This included 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Robert lived most of his life in Clawson. Robert met the love of his life, Aleen Rich, while he was enlisted in the US Navy. Robert and Aleen were married October 2, 1946 in Wellington, Utah and later solemnized in the LDS temple. This union was blessed with 6 children. He and Aleen were married almost 74 years until her death in July of 2020. Robert proudly served his country in WWII on the USS Hoggatt Bay and returned home to his "Leena". Robert worked in many professions with farming as a constant. Robert retired from the coal mines, but never retired from his beloved farming. Robert had many significant life experiences such as WWII, Wilberg Mine disaster, UMWA local mine president, and his work on the CCC trail. Robert had an amazingly peaceful spirit and was always happy when he was farming or with family. Robert loved to go hunting and prospecting for Uranium with his best friend Max. Robert enjoyed having his children and grandchildren nearby. He was known for his almost daily "morning rounds" to each of their homes for coffee and short visit. Robert always had a cheerful and fun story to tell. In his later years, they usually involved adventures with Aleen, his birds, and chipmunks. Robert's life will be cherished forever in the lives of his children and grandchildren: Mike (April) Riley, Carey (Bill) Bloomer 'deceased', Scott (Cathy) Riley, Wade (Kim) Riley, Ted Riley 'deceased', and Trent (Delanna) Riley; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Aleen, parents, daughter, son, and siblings. Viewing will be held Friday, July 9, 2021 from 5-7pm at Fausett Mortuary 720 N. Center, Castle Dale, Utah 84513. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10 am at the Ferron Utah Cemetery. Friends and family may share memories of Robert and sign the online guestbook at fausettmortuary.com
