Rhea Timothy

July 7, 1925 — March 4, 2018

Rhea Larsen Timothy July 7, 1925 - March 4, 2018 Rhea Larsen Timothy, 92, beloved mother, grandmother and sister passed away in Price, Utah on March 4, 2018. Born July 7, 1925 in Wellington, Utah, the daughter of Austin and Millie Larsen. She married Doyal Timothy on September 19th, 1945 in Wellington, Utah. Rhea grew up and attended school in Wellington, Utah. When World War II broke out, three of her brothers left for war and it wasn't long before she left, too. She worked at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah for the United States Defense Department. She met Doyal while he was home on leave from serving in the U.S. Navy, and they were married after the war. Rhea embodied the spirit of service to family and community, working as a Voter Registration Agent for over thirty years. She was appointed and served for eight years on the Health Facility Council under Utah State Governor Rampton and then again under Governor Matheson. Rhea was a democratic delegate and a strong voice and supporter of the "working man". By far, her greatest joy and accomplishment was her family. Her heart and home were always open with love, hugs and delicious food. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and a true leader and matriarch of the family, she will be missed deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Rhea was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by her children, Clayton (Ida) Timothy and Arlene Timothy Kelley, all of Carbon County and brothers Delon (Holly) Larsen and Wade (Linda) Larsen of the Wasatch Front, six grandchildren Nancy, Troy, Kerry, Kristi, Shawna and Jace, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, brothers, Leo, Archie, Larry, Claude, Neil and Tommy, sisters, Marietta and Wanda and grandchildren Sonja Ellen Timothy and Kolton Kyle Dean. The family would like to offer special thanks to Pinnacle Nursing Home and Dr. Potter for your excellent care of Rhea. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellington 1st and 3rd Ward Chapel, with a viewing from 10:00 - 10:45 prior to services entrusted to Fausett Mortuary. Interment will be in the Wellington City Cemetery. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook and share a memory of Rhea at www.fausettmortuary.com.
