Ray Jensen

Ray M. Jensen Huntington: Ray M. Jensen age 92, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010 in Ferron, Utah. He was born July 26, 1917 in Cleveland, Utah to Hans Oliver and M. Eleanora Andersen Jensen. He married Betty Jane Thomsen on September 4, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away in 1986. Ray later married Alice Larsen on May 14, 1987 in Price, Utah. Ray served his country in the United States Navy during WW II. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including a counselor in the bishopric. Ray loved his family and was the corner stone that held everyone together. His greatest enjoyment in life was spent being with his family. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and positive attitude toward everything. Ray worked as a butcher, mechanic, sheetmetal worker, was a beloved janitor at Huntington Elementary, and retired from The Utah Power Huntington Plant. His favorite job was the recreation director at the Utah State Training School in American Fork. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and four wheelers, flying small planes, listening to music and playing his harmonica. He is survived by his children: Karen Eastey of Santa Maria, CA, Susan Gale (Joseph Peterson) Ruesch of Bothell, WA, and Bradley T (Jenny Lyn) Jensen of Grants, NM, nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Betty, siblings: five brothers and four sisters, and his second wife, Alice Larsen. Funeral services will be Friday, July 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Huntington LDS Stake Center, 240 N. Main St., A viewing will be Friday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment will be in the Huntington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Friends and family may sign the guestbook and share memories of Ray at www.fausettmortuary.com. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Emery County Care and Rehabilitation Center.
