Ray Christmas
CASTLE DALE- On April 15, 2024, the world lost a good man. Ray Williams Christmas was born on September 27, 1939, in Spanish Fork, UT, to Bill and Gladys Christmas and a loving big sister, Berniece. In his youth, his home on 800 North in Spanish Fork was a popular hang-out since the family had one of the first televisions in town. He later made his home on that same street with his growing family and an assortment of chickens, rabbits, and Brittany Spaniels.
Ray married Pat Evans on July 26, 1963, and she became his loving soul mate and best friend. They were inseparable. Together they camped, fished, hunted, and explored for geocaches and other treasures. As life challenged and tested them, they drew strength from each other. Their devotion to one another was evident as Pat held on to Ray racing across the San Rafael Swell on a four-wheeler or loading the trailer for months of dry camping in Yuma, AZ, or holding hands through countless medical appointments. Ray and Pat shared a love of the outdoors and a true love for each other.
The Christmas family relocated for a job to the supporting and welcoming community of Castle Dale in 1976. He was employed by Ashworth as a diesel mechanic. However, his real love for hard work was in his wood shop or in the yard and garden. For relaxation he was fond of Western movies which inspired his epic adventures with Pat and his children. Ray’s firm spirit and strong personality were essential as he mourned the loss of his three boys, Randy, Brad, and Chad, and his infant granddaughter, Tina.
Ray is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Pat; his daughter, DeAnn; his grandchildren, Cyal, Tylor, Aryal, Brandon, Jeremy, Shayenne, and Jon; his daughter-in-law, Janelle; and his sister, Berniece Drage.
Pat appreciates all the many caring people who offered prayers for him. Pat especially extends her gratitude to the neighbors and caretakers who continue to help her as she mourns the loss of this good man.
