Preston Grant
PRICE - David Preston Grant, age 22, passed away September, 15, 2014 in Price, Utah. He was born February 9, 1992 to David Carter Grant and Wendy Barber Grant in Rexburg, Idaho. He married Carolyn Thornton on June 16, 2014 in the Orlando, Florida LDS temple.
Preston was a great student and an amazing teacher. He loved learning. Because of that love he was the music Sterling Scholar in high school and was in the National Honor Society. He was a very gifted musician and singer who enjoyed writing songs and drumming in his band, Ascending Irony.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was an Eagle Scout and a returned missionary from the Alabama, Birmingham (Spanish speaking) mission. He enjoyed animals especially birds and he was nicknamed "Pooh Bear" by his wife, who's cooking he adored.
Preston cherished his family, enjoyed puzzles and playing games with them. He was the "Happy game-rager."
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Thornton Grant of Price, Utah; parents, Carter and Wendy Grant of Wellington, Utah; brothers and sisters: Jessica Afton Grant, Dallin Carter Grant, Cassie Josephine Grant, Raymond Christopher Grant, and Rachelle LeAnn Grant all of Wellington, Utah; In-laws, George Patrick Jr. Thornton and Anne Cassidy Thornton of Tampa, Florida; brother in law, George Patrick Thornton III of Provo, Utah; sister in law, Hannah Thornton of Rexburg, Idaho; Grandparents: Raymond Wendell and LeAnna Barber of West Valley, Utah, George Patrick Sr. and Ella Joyce DuBose Thornton of Tampa, Florida, and David R. and Marilyn Carter Cassidy of Provo, Utah.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Horace Junior and Lucille Josephine Grant; and cousins: Kathy Lee Bird and Shared Labrum.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Price North Stake Center (449 North 100 East - Price, Utah.) Family will receive friends, Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Price North Stake Center and on Monday, September 22, 2014 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Cliffview Cemetery. Family and friends may sign the guestbook and share memories of Preston at www.fausettmortuary.com. Service are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
