Patricia Cook

Patricia Cook Josephine Patricia Taylor Cook was born February 27, 1927 in Spanish Fork Utah to Marion Rogers Taylor and Josephine Crandall. She passed away May 11, 2016 at the age of eighty-nine. As a child, Patricia spent her summers at Wildwood in Provo Canyon enjoying the cool weather and fun activities of outdoor life. She spent her last year of High School in Provo. After High School, she attended the University of Utah and Brigham Young University. She also attended Utah State University where she met and fell in love with her eternal companion Paul W. Cook. Paul and Pat were sealed in marriage in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 26, 1947 for time and all eternity. They settled in Price, Utah where she helped with the family businesses. One business they owned was Cook's Velvet Freeze. Pat was an excellent homemaker and kept her home clean and organized. She enjoyed many craft and sewing projects which she often gave to family and friends. Most of all, she loved making her home beautiful where the spirit of peace could abide. Pat's family was truly blessed by the daily prayers she offered in their behalf. Their family also enjoyed many outings to their Scofield cabin and boating at Lake Powell. Pat was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. From 1992-1993 Paul and Pat served a full-time mission in the Ventura California Mission, which brought joy to their lives and the lives of many others. Patricia leaves behind her children and their spouses: Barry Paul Cook (Julee, deceased), Keven Taylor Cook (Rhonda) and Catherine Kirk (John); 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, David Allen Taylor (Sally) and sister Merle Maier (Gene, deceased). Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Paul W. Cook; her parents, Marion and Josephine Taylor; brother, Richard Marion Taylor; and sister, Elizabeth Maud Taylor. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Price LDS 8th Ward Chapel (995 E. 700 N.) with a viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment in the Price City Cemetery.
