Norm Patterson
Price, UT - Norman "Norm" G. Patterson, age 91, returned peacefully to his Heavenly Father on Dec. 18, 2015 in Price, Utah. He was born Nov. 25, 1924 in Sunnyside, Utah to John Albert and Frances Rhoda Harrison Patterson. He was raised in Sunnyside and attended schools there and at Carbon High School. After completing school he served as a Submariner in the US Navy during WWII. He married LaRue Morley and later divorced. He then married Gloria Tuttle on June 2, 1962 in the Manti Temple.
Norm worked for the US Postal Service for 31 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings including 3 bishoprics as a clerk or counselor, high priest group leader, high councilman, bishop's storehouse worker and with his wife was an ordinance worker in the Manti Temple for over 12 years. He was active in the MM program and received a Master MM Award, and was also active with the Boy Scouts where he was a District Commissioner and also received the Silver Beaver Award. Norm was also active in his community where he was a member and past president of the Rotary Club, member of the American Legion and also past state secretary for the NAPS. In his spare time he enjoyed going to the BDAC for 20+ years and playing pool at the Senior Citizens Center with his beloved friends.
Norm is survived by his children: Lynn T. (Kambera) Patterson, Susy P. Datzman, Julie P. (Kelly) Medley; 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Tuttle Patterson, daughter Peggy Ann, son Gregory, his parents, brothers Jack & James, sisters Lorraine, Pearl & Mae and a granddaughter Alexis Datzman.
A viewing will be held Tues. Dec. 22, 2015 from 5-7 pm at the Fausett Mortuary in Price, Utah. Funeral services will be held at the Price 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 545 E 400 N on Wed. Dec. 23, 2015 at 11:00 am with a viewing at the church an hour prior to services. Interment will follow in the Price City Cemetery. Funeral services are entrusted to Fausett Mortuary in Price.
