Mildred Maki

April 12, 1931 — February 14, 2019

Millie Maki, age 87, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 in Cleveland, UT. She was born on April 12, 1931 in Standardville, UT, to Forest and Arretta Brock. She married Henry Edward Maki on August 14, 1948 in Sunnyside, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa, AZ Temple on January 20, 1968. Millie gave Henry the ultimate Valentine's Day gift by joining him in Heaven. Before Henry passed away, they were inseparable. 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing, target shooting, being outdoors, and carpentry work were among her favorite past times. One thing she enjoyed doing with her husband was playing shoot-the-can with .22 rifles. She had a passion for quilting and had made a quilt for all of her grandkids for their weddings and was in the process of making a quilt for all her great-grandkids. Her greatest joy was being with her family. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved being involved in the Scouting program and understood the program better than anyone. She enjoyed teaching Primary and loved the little kids. She managed the Jewelry Counter at K-Mart for many years until her retirement. She was a very independent person. She always mowed her own lawn right up to last summer. Millie is survived by her children, Doug (Greta) Maki of Kennewick, WA; Debra (Mike) Mack of Craig, CO; Larry (Cathy) Maki of Wilmington, OH; 20 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Maki, infant son David Allen Maki, her parents, Henry's parents, grandson Doug Maki, sister Wilma Haynes, and brother Clyde Ortho Brock. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cleveland LDS Chapel, 355 W. 100 N. A viewing will be held one hour prior to funeral services. Interment will be in the Cleveland Town Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Millie at www.fausettmortuary.com.
