Michael Alan Marx
PRICE-Michael Alan Marx, 37, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 after a courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy. He was born on June 2, 1977 to Bryan C. and Mary Clark Marx in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He married Colette Kay Keller on December 5, 1998 and they were sealed in the Manti LDS Temple. He often referred to Colette as his "sweet addiction" saying he would love her forever and a day. Together they had four boys: Bryan, Blake, Brayden, and Benjamin. Michael's family always came first. He looked forward to the annual family reunion or other family event where he could play cards with his family members.
Michael was raised in Price, Utah. He attended Carbon High School and graduated in 1995. He later received his Associate of Science from CEU and his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Utah State.
Michael served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the New Jersey, Cherry Hill Mission. He loved the gospel and served faithfully in every capacity he was asked to.
Michael had a love of the great outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish and go camping with his kids. He could spend all day fishing and often wouldn't come home until after dark. He was super proud of his buck that scored 186 1/2 that he shot with his muzzleloader. It made the Utah Record Book. He also loved all sports including golf, basketball, and especially baseball.
Because he loved the outdoors, Michael was discouraged being in a wheelchair. He still tried to get out as much as possible. He dreamed of the day when he could finally walk and run again. Run, Michael Run!
He is survived by his wife Colette, four boys: Bryan, Blake, Brayden, and Benjamin; mother, Mary Marx; sisters: Christy (Scott) Nelson, Amy (Kevin) Giles, and Katie Jo Marx, brother, Robert (Amy) Marx, in-laws, Darrell and Joan Keller; and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bryan, sister, Tammy, and his grandparents.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Donna Homer for making this trial bearable, as well as Rocky Mountian Hospice, especially his nurses, Tiffany, Holly, and Chanda. To his rocks, Justin Orth and Robert Marx, who gave Michael the strength to endure to the end.
In lieu of flowers, please donate money to the "Michael Marx Family Fund" at Utah Power and Light Credit Union.
