Michael Jensen

July 11, 1950 — December 26, 2022

Michael Frank Lynn Jensen, 72, left to go home on December 26, 2022, at the hospital in price, after a short battle with covid. Michael was born on July 11, 1950 to J. Franklin Jensen & Ila Mary Cox of Clawson in Price, Utah. Michael was the only one of their six children who was born at the hospital. Michael lived most of his life in Clawson, Utah, surrounded by family. He grew up helping his dad on the farm, as well as other neighbor farms around the area. Michael graduated from Emery High in 1968. He was soon busy hauling coal & finding other jobs to stay busy & earn a little spending money (even though he mostly saved it instead). In February of 1970, Michael started dating Doris L'Heureux. By April, they knew they had found their soulmates. Michael & Doris were married on September 11, 1970. They celebrated 52 years together this year. Michael was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He wasn't always active but he never stopped believing. Michael started working for Emery County Road department in June of 1970. He started out at the bottom with a shovel in a ditch. He was always good with equipment and soon mastered the loader, backhoe, any & all the trucks. When one of the old timers were ready to retire, the boss, Mr. Vern Leamaster asked him if he'd like to take on a road grader. Michael not only took it on, he excelled at it. He learned all the tricks of grading a road, laying oil (tar) & even changing a flat tire alone. With another operator, he graded about 400 miles of desert roads several times a year. From home in Clawson clear to Goblin Valley. He always enjoyed working with the crew & got along well with mostly everyone. He retired after 32 years, mostly because of injuries. After 3 back surgeries, 5 knee surgeries & a shoulder surgery, I guess you could say Doris had enough. She kind of forced him to retire or else. Then when he was sitting around at home, he took stock of their home & decided he needed to build a new house for Doris. She thought he had a screw loose but instead, so 10 years ago, they built a house. During all these years, they raised 2 sons & 1 daughter on their little farm. They all learned how to work hard. They raised alfalfa hay, a few cows, chickens, sheep for a while & even a herd of crazy goats. They would all go on the mountain between hay crops & cut their winter wood. Everyone worked hard & then we all got to play hard too. Michael was very proud of his boys when they each chose to join the Navy. They both served in the submarine fleet with honor. Meanwhile, Julie started her family & gave us 2 granddaughters & 2 grandsons. They loved to come & do things on the farm with their Papa & Nana. Now our little family has expanded to 8 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, 2 great- grandsons & one delightful almost 6 months old great- granddaughter. Michael's only regret was not getting to meet little Violet & Caspian or see Danny again. Michael is survived by his love, Doris. His son, Jeff (Melanie), Daughter Julie (Gary), and Son Timothy. His 12 grandchildren & 3 great grandbabies. Also, his sister, Sandra Justice; Mother- In- Law, Evie L'Heureux & Step Mother- In- law, Susan L'Heureux. Sisters-In-laws Amy (Robert) Colby, Sandra Jean (Jason) Dykstra, Judy (Steven) Pounds, Pamela (Bill) Brown; Brother-In-Laws Eric (Melinda) L'Heureux, Harold (Rosemary) L'Heureux, Ernest (Kimm) L'Heureux Daniel (Kathy) L'Heureux, Aaron L'Heureux & Kent Swearingin, His aunt Diana Cox, Sister- in Law, Caroline Blackburn & many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Donna Jean (Don) Smith, Louise (Darrel) Price, Brothers, Sherald (Adela) Blackburn and Rulon Blackburn, Brother- In- law, John Justice, Sister- In- Law, Eva Swearingin and nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Castleview Hospital and their Doctors and Nurses and especially the ICU staff for their excellent care. There will be a Graveside Service at the Clawson Cemetery on December, 29, 2022 at 2 PM. There will be no viewing. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fausett Mortuary of Price and Castle Dale.
