Mary Potter

Mary Jeanne Potter age 74 Price, Utah. Our shining beacon of light returned to heaven peacefully on

December 5th, 2024 due to complications from a stroke. She was born on November 23rd, 1950 in

Salida Colorado to James Stidman Simpson and Marion Dean Wall Smith Simpson. Mary was married

three times first to Richard Mundell next to Ronald Knight and Third to Robert Brennon Potter.

Mary was raised on the Hiwan Ranch in Colorado one of seven children her early days were ones of joy

playing in mountain meadows and tending to livestock. She also loved to attend their small mountain

church in Evergreen Colorado and spoke of it often. Mary attended Golden High School in Golden

Colorado where she excelled at her studies. After graduation she met, and married Richard Mundell

later divorced, and they had one daughter Cindy Lynn Mundell. After her first marriage she enjoyed

roaming and seeing sights and the scenery of the west coast with her second husband Ronald Knight.

Wishing to finish her education and be closer to family she divorced Mr. Knight and moved to Price Utah

to attend the College of Eastern Utah and complete an associate degree of science. During that time,

she met and married Robert Brennon Potter and had a son Myka Brennon Potter after her graduation.

Mary loved to camp, fish and spend time with her family. She was proud of her children's and

grandchildren's accomplishments. She loved to create. Mary and her sister Leitha ran a jewelry business

for many years called a Niche in Time where she was able create innumerable pieces with flare and style

and show off her creative side. Mary was also a room mother and a member of the PTA at Creekview

Elementary School she helped many children to get a good start at life and learning. Even in her final

weeks she enjoyed visiting with neighborhood children and telling them stories.

She is survived by her Brothers, Fredrick Smith Aztec NM, William Smith (Janet) Salida, CO; sister, Leitha

Giacoletto (Paul) Price, UT.; daughter, Cindy lynn Johansen (Scott) Las Vegas, NV.; son, Myka Brennon

Potter Price, UT.; grandchildren, Casey Mundell (Brandi) Kasandra Johansen, Kalob Johansen; great

grandchildren, Timothy Troutman.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marion Dean Wall Smith Simpson; father, James Stidman

Simpson; husbands, Robert Brennon Potter, Richard Mundell; sisters, Donnas Katherine Simpson, Kathy

Dean Witt; brother, Raymond Edward Smith (Dawn).

At the request of Mary there will be no funeral service but a Celebration of Life gathering to be held at a

later date. Please do not cry, for I did not die, I simply moved on to a better place and we'll be together

again posthaste. I really don't know but when, but surely soon enough my friend.
