PRICE- Our beloved sister, aunty, and great aunt, Mary Louise Nelson, age 61, passed away May 24, 2024, at her home in Price.
She was born February 11, 1963, in Price, Utah to Louis and Carol Christianson Nelson.
Mary was known for her love of the outdoors, particularly the mountains, and she spent much of her life in Colorado. She was fiercely independent and lived life on her own terms with a contagious energy that lit up any room.
Mary was a forester at the Saguache Ranger District in the Rio Grande National Forest. She dedicated her career to preserving and caring for the natural beauty she cherished. Mary’s passion for her work was evident to all who knew her.
Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her brother, David (Barbara) Nelson; nephew, Michael Louis (MaryAnn) Nelson; niece, Amy Jean (Jeff); great niece, Riley Jean; her loveable companion Chica.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Louis I. Nelson; mother, Carol Nelson; beloved dog, Picasso Moon.
Celebration of Life to honor Mary’s memory will be on Saturday, June 1, 2024, 2:00 p.m., 745 North 700 East, Price. Arrangements are in the trusted care of Fausett Mortuaries where friends are always welcome and may share memories online at www.fausettmortuary.com.
