It is with both joy and sorrow we announce the passing of Mary Ann Jones Jorgensen, age 86, on March 21, 2025, in Orem, Utah, from causes incident to age. A woman whose life was defined by unwavering faith, boundless generosity, and an all-encompassing love for her family, she will forever remain in our hearts.
Born on April 2, 1938, in Montpelier, Idaho, she was the daughter of Thomas Wynn and Phyllis May Peterson Jones. She grew up with a spirit of kindness and thoughtfulness that touched everyone she met. She enjoyed spending time with her parents, siblings, cousins, and friends. She grew up in town but loved her time on the farm in Nounan and had lots of stories about her time there. She loved her kitties, dogs, and horses. Her formal education was in the Montpelier schools. After completing high school, she attended Brigham Young University. She earned her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, kindergarten and library certificates.
A deeply faithful woman, Mary Ann held her beliefs close to her heart. Her faith was not just something she practiced on Sundays but something that guided every aspect of her life. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Great Lakes Area.
Mary Ann was sealed to Allen Gale Jorgensen in the Logan, Utah, temple. They were married for 46 years, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, hard work, and cherished memories. She was a dedicated wife and an incredible partner. Together they shared many happy moments, and their love for each other was truly one of a kind. They both loved to travel and see exciting new places.
She was the proud mother of eight children, and her love knew no bounds. She was a devoted parent who supported and encouraged them in all their endeavors, always putting family first. Through her prayers, her quiet strength, and her unshakable belief in the goodness of others, she showed us what it meant to live with grace, humility, and love.
Mary Ann had a deep passion for education, and she touched the lives of many through her work, friendships, and volunteer efforts. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering strength were qualities that made her an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved music, traveling, sewing, crocheting, reading, puzzles, and family history work.
