Mary Elizabeth Ferguson (Beth) 96- Las Vegas NV-Sunnyside UT, completed her journey on this earth
and returned to her Heavenly Father on 03 April 2023.
Beth was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother.
She was born on January 20, 1927, to Stanley Harvey and Eleanor Richards. Beth was one of eight
children: Delores, Tom, William (Bill), Boyd, James, Joe, and Nelda.
Beth was very intelligent and was promoted ahead a grade in elementary school. She loved to read and
kept that love throughout her lifetime. She passed that love of reading onto many of her grandchildren
which began early with Grandma reading books to us in her favorite chair.
She loved the ocean and beaches, and during WWII she stayed with her sister in CA where she worked
doing welding and riveting for the war effort. She used to tell fascinating stories about the Big Band
Dances that were held in Salt Lake City and how fun it was go to. As a young woman she also worked as
a telephone operator, when they still had the switch boards. (We can just picture her like that Lilly
Tomlin skit, one ringy dingy, two ringy dingy!!). Later after her children were raised, she worked for a
medical clinic as a receptionist.
She married George Lee Ferguson October 10, 1944, and was later sealed in the Manti Temple. They
welcomed three rambunctious boys into their family: Harvey, Randy, and Ray Ferguson. She was
congenial and had a good sense of humor (she had too, to contend with her husband and three sons!).
She was an excellent cook and many of her recipes are beloved by her family. Her divinity recipe is
made every Christmas and is now a family tradition.
Beth's whole life was centered around her family, even as a newlywed she cared for her own
Grandmother until her death, and later caring for Grandma Ferguson. Beth welcomed all into her home
having extra was never a problem, as two nephews Robert Harvey and Boyd Harvey lived with her and
her family at times. Beth never had a cross word for anyone, she was always kind, gracious and a classy
woman to the very end, still only conveying positive thoughts and concern for those around her.
Beth lived in Sunnyside, Utah for over sixty years, and later lived with her son, Randy and wife Alice in
Las Vegas, Nevada.
Beth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had the opportunity to
serve through many callings throughout her life. She was loved by all and will be missed by many. She
always had time to listen, and her house was always open to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 5 brothers and 1 sister, husband George, son Harvey, son
Ray, son Bruce (infant) and three Great- grandchildren: Bridger Ferguson, MGuire Ferguson, and
Randilynn Ferguson.
She is survived by her son Randall (Randy) and Alice Ferguson, Las Vegas NV, Daughter in-law Lorraine
Ferguson, Riverdale, UT, Daughter in-law Elizabeth (Liz) Ferguson, East Carbon City UT and 8
Grandchildren, 26-Great-grandchildren, and 9 Great-greatgrandchildren, and sister Nelda Delost,
Bountiful UT.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 in the Fausett Mortuary Chapel at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery following the funeral service.
