Margaret Doris "Dot" Jones passed away November 17, 2019, at her home in Huntington, Utah. Her daughter Vonda had been her caregiver for many years.
Dot was born March 27, 1934 to James and Edna Bauser in Campsville, Illinios. This is where she met her husband, Larry Jones, who was on furlough while serving his country in the U.S. Army. They were married in Illinois on April 11, 1959. They were later sealed in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Manti Temple. Larry passed away May 21, 1994.
Dot was a very supportive wife and loving mother. She and Larry moved to Huntington, Utah in 1969 where Dot worked hard to help her husband operate a Gas & Service Station for 25 years.
Dot was protective and proud of her children. If you met her in the Post Office, you couldn't get away. She bragged about Vonda's talents and her son Jerry's work for Utah Parks & Recreation. She loved his uniform. She missed spending time with her two older sons, Arnold and Richard, who eventually moved to Salt Lake City.
Dot was very ambitious and always busy. She worked at the family Gas Station for 25 years, at the Huntington Head Start Program for five years and at the Huntington State Park for ten years. In her spare time she made beautiful quilts and crocheted many items for children and babies.
Dot is the proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sons Arnold Howland and Jerry (Suchin "Sue") Jones, daughter Vonda (Keith) Lofley, and a daughter-in-law Pat Howland of Boise, Idaho. Dot is preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, son Richard, and ten siblings.
