Lois Wright

April 3, 1941 — January 3, 2025

PRICE- Our beautiful mother and grandmother, our beacon of light, Mary Lois Wright known to all by Lois returned to her Heavenly Father peacefully on January 3, 2025, in Price, Utah.

She was born April 3, 1941, in Reins, Utah to Joseph Raymond Mary Rosebelle Erickson Angus.

Lois grew up in Latuda, Spring Glen and Helper. She has a lot of fond memories of sitting on the rock in Latuda waiting for her daddy to come home from work at the mine. She attended school in Spring Glen, Helper Junior High and Carbon High.

While still young, she met and fell in love with Jack McCormack. They married and had three children together, two sons and a daughter. They were later divorced.

Lois later met and married Clarence “Buddy” Wright and became an Air Force Wife. They moved from base to base across several different states where she would work at the officer’s clubs. Lois also received the Home Front award for her support of the soldiers in the Vietnam War. She would write and send letters to as many servicemen as she could to help lift their spirits and morale. Lois and Buddy had two sons together and later divorced.

Lois’ life was not always easy, she suffered an unfortunate gunshot wound to her face but Heavenly Father saw her through as he still had work for her here on earth. She truly loved the Lord and enjoyed going to the temple every chance that she had. She tried very hard to emulate Christlike attributes and had faith that one day she would return home to her Heavenly Father.

Lois loved her children and grandchildren. Spending time with them as much as possible was her favorite thing to do. Teaching her kids to love music as much as she did was very important to her. She spent a lot of time with them singing and recording songs from the 50s and 60s. Let us not forget that each one of her kids knew how to Jitter Bug before they hit their teens.

Lois is survived by her two sons and her daughter, Doug (Janet) McCormack, Mary (Rodney) Gerard, Erich Wright; her five grandchildren, Joseph and Erich McCormack, Mary Sunshine Calaprice, Nathanial Blaze McCormack, Laura Greenwood; five great grandchildren, Lily, Eli, Mabel, Dailynn, Brenden; two great-great grandchildren, Elijah and Luke.

She leaves behind many friends and family members that loved her and will always remember her love for life.

Lois was the last of the Angus clan to pass on. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary; her six brothers and sisters, Smiles, Nana Beth, Eva Marie (known as Mickey), Charles Ray (known as Chuck), Jerry and Betty Louise (known as Tyke); two sons, Jeffery McCormack and Ryan Wright; granddaughter, Kistin.
