Lois Olsen

December 15, 1938 — August 8, 2018

Our precious Angel, Lois Grace Daniels Olsen, completed her earthly mission on August 8, 2018 at her home in Castle Dale, Utah at the age of 79. Grace was born to Jessie Labelle Brandon and Swen Olsen Daniels on December 15th, 1938 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. In her youth, she primarily grew up in Mt. Pleasant and later Huntington, Utah. As a young girl, she enjoyed playing on the Daniels family farm between Mt. Pleasant and Moroni. When she was 15 years old, her father was killed in a mining accident in Huntington Canyon. She attended North Emery High School. After her father's death, she moved back to Mt. Pleasant and graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1957. That same year, on June 5th, she married her sweetheart of 61 years, Billie Mondell Olsen. Their marriage was later solemnized in January of 1991 in the Manti, Utah temple. Alongside her faithful companion, she had four children, whom she adored. Scott, Jedd, Debbie and Lisa. She put family first in everything that she did. She was perseverant and had an inner strength that was truly remarkable. She had a fervent testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She shared her testimony often to her family and friends. Grace was a great homemaker and her family knew that they could always count on her. Her Great Great Grandfather, Ole Madsen and his wife, Anne were immigrants who joined the church in Denmark, and crossed the plains in the Willie Handcart Company in 1856. Grace was proud of her ancestry. Grace radiated love and beauty, she took pride in her dress and appearance. She treated others with respect and love. Her example is one to be followed. Even when she was not feeling well, she was always concerned about others. Her specialty dishes were: fruit salad, fruit cake and the best divinity in the world. We are so blessed to have had her for so many years. She had an almost childlike innocence and sweet sense of humor that she shared often. She endured many trials and kept a positive outlook despite her declining health and many surgeries. Until we meet again Mom, we will honor your name. Grace's family wishes to thank Emery County Care and Rehabilitation and Rocky Mountain Hospice for all their help. Grace is survived by her husband Bill of Castle Dale, children: Scott (Tina) Olsen of Castle Dale, Jedd (Alana) Olsen of Huntington, Debbie (Bill) Murray of Huntington, brother: Grant Daniels of Price, sister: Vicky Chatterly (John) of Santaquin Utah, and sister in law: Deloris (JR) Jolley of Joseph Utah. She was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Olsen Raynor, and brother Clair Daniels. She has 14 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held Monday, August 13, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Fausett Mortuary, 720 North Center, Castle Dale. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 1 PM at the Castle Dale Stake Center with a viewing from 11:30-12:45. Interment will follow at the Huntington City Cemetery entrusted to Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook and share memories of Grace at fausettmortuary.com.
