Lila B. Golding
Wellington-Lila Burnett Golding, age 87, passed away on December 19, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on May 8, 1924 to Daniel Abram and Irene Thayn Burnett in Wellington, Utah. She married Floyd Lee Golding on August 18, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Lila was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Lila served a mission with her husband in Houston, Texas, where their main assignment was to work with Asian Refugee's. She was an icon in her ward and community. She served many callings in the Church, she was a matriarch of the Wellington LDS 4th Ward. She was the happiest when surrounded by her family.
Lila is survived by her children: David (Marilyn) Golding of Sandy, Karen (Ralph) Moosman of Elmo, Keith (Faye) Golding of Boise, ID, Daniel (Grace) Golding, Nancy Golding, and Peggy Golding of Millercreek; sisters: Melene Norton and Phyllis (Charles) Bradshaw; 28 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws: Marrion Leifson and Betty Golding.
Preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; parents; brother: Durward and Nona Burnett; brother-in-law: Ross Norton; many brothers and sisters-in-law and cousins; grandchildren: Rad Golding and Russell Williams; great-grandchildren: Natalie Chandler, Kelly Villa and Gaven Kemple.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 23, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Wellington LDS 4th Ward Chapel. There will be a viewing at Fausett Mortuary in Price on Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Wellington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Lila at www.fausettmortuary.com.
