Len Jensen Johnson was born on January 2, 1952 in Preston Idaho to Frank & Maxine Johnson. He passed away on October 13, 2023. Len was number 5 of 16 children, whom he spent his childhood with growing up on a farm. Throughout high school Len wrestled as well as won a letter of athleticism because of his high proficiency in the sport. After high school Len went on to complete a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Phoenix and Flagstaff Arizona.
After his mission Len decided to settle in Cleveland Utah where he also started his career in coal mining. Len was married to Gayle Henderson On June 26th, 1982. Together they raised 7 children, 6 sons and one daughter; Kenneth, Gary, Steffanie, Kerrey, Nick, and Daniel. Len worked extremely hard to raise and support his family. From his wrestling days, Len enjoyed sharing his passion with his sons by teaching them valuable wrestling skills.
Len was quite the outdoorsman; he enjoyed camping, fishing, gathering wood and especially growing a garden. Every year Len mastered the skill of gardening in the backyard with his wife where they planted fruits and vegetables for the family to enjoy. The other most important activity of the year was for Len and family to go up Trailhead mountain to gather wood for the winter. Many nights were spent, stories shared, and memories were created with the family as they gathered wood which made this tradition very important to Len.
Lastly but most importantly, Len loved his dogs. As the dogs went on the names got better starting from: Black Dog, Brown Dog, Lady, sassy, sparky, Toby, Jasper and Buster. These dogs were very loved and pampered by Len as he often fixed up the dogs own plates for dinner where some nights even the dogs ate a nice steak dinner.
Len was preceded in death by his parents, Frank A. and Maxine Johnson. His sister, Betty Johnson & his brother, Claire Johnson. His two sons Kenneth & Nick Johnson. His granddaughter Syriah Johnson. He is survived by his Wife Gayle Johnson, his children Gary, Steffanie, Kerry, Kurtis & Danny. His 21 grandchildren & two great grandchildren along with many of his brothers and sisters.
To conclude Len will be dearly missed by all of the lives whom he has touched throughout his lifetime. He has created an ongoing legacy of hard work which was shown throughout everything he did.
