Biography

Price-Leah Hunt Rowley returned to Heavenly Father on August 14, 2009, surrounded by her family, following complications after hip surgery. Leah was born June 24, 1919 in Price, Utah to Moroni and Delta Cook Hunt. She was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was raised in Price where she met the man she called "Pretty Boy Blue". She married Robert Lee Rowley on June 24, 1936 in Price, Utah and resided in Spring Glen their entire life. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, they just celebrated their 73 wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband Lee; children, Shirlee (Ralph) Keele, of Price; Judy (Ron) Stanfield, of Salt Lake City; Deanna (Bud) Oldroyd of Centerville; Robert (Denise) Rowley of Price; and Terry (Lori) Rowley of Price, sisters; Sylvia Pilling of Price and Melva Sullivan of Spring Glen, she was so proud of her 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Leah was preceded in death by her parents and sisters; Enid Munk and Lucille Goodsell and brothers; Clayton Hunt and Wayne Hunt.
Mom loved her family more than anything and they always came first in her life. She was generous to a fault and was a wonderful example. Her many talents included crocheting, sewing, dancing, cooking and reading; but her greatest joy, especially in her golden years, was playing canasta everyday with one or more of her children. Mom and Dad spent many of their retirement years traveling across America, Canada, Mexico and Europe. One of her great memories was shaking hands with Pope John Paul II.
A family memorial was held August 15, 2009, at Fausett Mortuary and interment was at the Spring Glen Cemetery. We would like to thank the skilled and caring staff of the Castle Country Care Center and Castleview Hospital. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guestbook and share memories @ www.fausettmortuary.com.
