Lavoy Hardee

February 11, 1933 — October 6, 2021

LaVoy Hardee Orangeville - Our loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather LaVoy Hardee age 88 passed away October 6, 2021, surrounded by family. He was born February 11, 1933 to Mary Lott and Rulon A Hardee. He married Marilyn Sitterud in Orangeville on November 16, 1950, and was later sealed in Manti Temple June 14, 1963. LaVoy started work at age 15 driving truck at a uranium mine. Through his life he worked mostly construction and mining until retiring as a proud member of the UMWA. He liked to keep the love of his life on her toes. He would walk through the door, say "we're out of here". Marilyn always had a travel bag packed and within five minutes they were gone. Lots of times LaVoy would keep their destination a secret. All his children thought LaVoy knew how to do everything. If anybody ever wanted to know how something was done, all of his kids would say, "Let me ask my dad". Sometimes such extreme confidence that our dad always knew best was a bit of an irritation to his sons-in-law. He was a loving man and took very good care of his extended family and good friends. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his children: Janet (Delroy) Peacock, Colleen (Allen) Childs, Sheila Fielder, Irene Shiner, Tom (Lori) Hardee, Rick (Kim) Hardee, Brent (Cathy) Hardee, and Shellee Woodall (Loch Michie); special nieces and nephews: Dennis Lott, Fern Oliver, Ramona Sherman, Billie Jean Raisanen, and Diane & Rod Carter; and 134 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his parents; brother, Kenneth Hardee; sisters, Helen Lott, Donna Anderson, and Roylance Black; in-laws, Edgar and Nora Sitterud; grandsons Skyler Hardee and Jesse Peacock. His family have chosen a private memorial service for family only at Fausett Mortuary. Interment will be at the Orangeville Cemetery.
