Larry Saling

June 4, 1974 — June 9, 2020

Larry Dean Saling, Jr. passed away on Monday, June 8th, 2020 in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 46. Larry was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 4th, 1974 to his parents Larry Dean Sr and Annette Saling. His early childhood was spent in West Valley, Utah and at the age of 5 moved with his family to Ferron, Utah. Larry was always full of energy and excited to be in this world. He had a tenacity for being involved in any activity from participating in sports to having parts in plays. As he grew up, he had an uncanny ability to make many friendships and connect with everyone he met. He had an amazing ability to listen to others with real interest and encouraged them in their endeavors. While attending Emery High School, he participated in many sports but found his greatest abilities when competing in track and field events. He also found time in his busy schedule to act in plays and realized this to be another of his great passions. After high school he married Janet Oveson and began his family by adding three amazing daughters. His interest changed to his work and, most importantly, his family. His career started out in the medical field as a Physical Therapy Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant and Athletic Trainer for colleges and schools in Carbon County. Larry loved this work and loved the people he worked with. Nevertheless, he felt the need to change and became trained in computers and began a new career. Larry loved working on computers and this became a new talent for him. He loved to take a customer's computer, fix it and then show them all of the things that they could do with it. Larry loved helping people and would often come to the aid of others. Larry also continued his love of theater and participated in many community productions. However, after about 10 years his marriage to Janet ended. Larry continue to work with his community and with computers when he met his second wife Rachel Eoff. Larry and Rachel added four more amazing children to their family. He moved from Utah to Texas and then to Arizona. He loved the people wherever he lived and made many lifelong friends. As fun loving and passionate as he was for life, he had many struggles. His choices, unfortunately, led to challenges that he fought for many years. We will never know how hard he fought and all of the pains the he endured, but we hope that he is free at last from misery, illness and pain. We cannot wait to see him again, see his smile, and feel his encircling love. Larry is survived by: his parents Larry Sr. and Annette Saling, siblings Cindy (Brandon) Sanchez, Chris (Kim) Saling, Teresa (Tim) Guymon, children Kaijsa (Jace) Nava, Kaitlyn (Matthew) Mecham, Kira, Kamden, Kinsee, Kaileigh, and Kallen Saling, and four granddaughters with a grandson on the way along with many nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service for Larry Saling on Saturday, June 20th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ferron City Cemetery, 200 North 350 East.
