Larry "Vale" Potter
Ferron- Larry "Vale" Potter passed away at his home in Ferron, Utah, on January 7, 2013. He was born on January 7, 1948, in Murray, Utah, to James L. and Grace Collins Potter of Sandy, Utah. Graduate of Hillcrest High School. Served in the U. S. Army for 3 years active duty including 1 year in Vietnam as a Sergeant in the Infantry, 101st Airborne, (including during the 68 Tet Offensive). Recipient of the Bronze Star and also earned his jump wings. Married Linda Wilson (divorced years later), now deceased.
Vale worked many years as a Board Operator for Utah Power and Light Company, in the Hunter/Huntington Power Plants.
Vale loved the great outdoors from childhood on. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, first with his father and brothers through the years and also with valued friends. He participated in the very first years of the Moab Jeep Safari. He was an ace 4-wheeler who was always respectful of the beautiful earth he traveled on.
Survived by a sister, Jeanie Reynolds of Salt Lake City, UT; and a brother Karl (Vicki) of Duchesne, UT. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and loving Colorado cousins, and friends throughout the years.
Preceded in death by an older brother Darryl and both parents.
We have loved you for a long time, Vale. We will always love you.
