Orem, UT. Our father, husband, brother, grandfather, and friend, Larry E
Harmon passed peacefully away at home on June 3, 2012 at the age of 79. Larry was born August 2, 1932 as the eleventh of thirteen children to Esse Harmon and Estella
Brown in Fairview, WY. There he attended elementary through high school,
graduating in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army 1953 to 1955 and later served a
mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Manchester,
England. Larry married Louise Cox on February 3, 1961 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He is survived by Louise, six children: John (Melanie) Orem, UT; Ronald (Louise) Chandler, AZ; Lori, Provo, UT; Richard (Nicole) St. George, UT; Blaine (Mindy) Orem, UT; Susan (Bret) Petersen, Payson, UT; 22 grandchildren; sister, Mary (Erlon) Putman of West Valley, UT and brother Ted (Jan) Harmon of Star Valley, WY.
Larry worked in construction for over 50 years having finally hung up his
hammer earlier this year. He loved to serve people through physical labor
and a teasing smile. He was patient, humble, committed, loyal, and
anxiously engaged in whatever was asked of him. He and Louise served missions in
the Utah Provo Mission Office and Korean Temple, and served many years in the Provo Temple and the Mt. Timpanogas Temples.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Orem Utah Orchard LDS Stake Center, 810 E. 600 N., Orem, UT. A viewing will be held 10:30am to 12:30pm at the church prior to services. Be aware that the Orem 800 North exit off I-15 is closed, Orem center street exit is recommended. Interment is at Provo City Cemetery, Provo,UT. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guestbook and share memories of Larry at www.fausettmortuary.com.
