Larena Collard

LaRena Mortensen Collard HUNTINGTON - Our loving angel mother, wife, grandmother, LaRena Mortensen Collard, age 76, passed away September 25, 2013 in Ferron, Utah. LaRena was born in Emery Town on October 27, 1936 as one of 15 children born to Grant and Maude May Mortensen. She married her sweetheart, Clifford D. Collard, on July 16, 1955 in Emery Town. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She and Clifford were married for 58 years. LaRena loved children, and everyone called her "Grandma Collard". She enjoyed baking, sewing, and making quilts for her grandchildren. She also had a special love for her small dogs. LaRena was always cleaning and rearranging things. She loved her children, and they will miss her fun-loving nature and the wild adventures she brought to each of their lives. LaRena is survived by her husband, Clifford; children: Janet (Scott) Kinder, Jolene (Gary) Stevens, Dean (Christy) Collard, and Christian (Marilyn) Collard, all of Emery County; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers; three sisters; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Cliff Davis: six brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Huntington LDS Stake Center (240 North Main). There will be a viewing that morning at the Stake Center from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Huntington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
