Kristin Nelson

Kristin Jaylynn Nelson age 43 passed away in Moab, Utah on December 10, 2018. Kris was born January 19, 1975 In Monticello, Utah, to James R. and Lynda Nelson, the second of five children. Kris attended Emery County schools and graduated from Emery High where she was active in athletics. She later graduated from College of Eastern Utah and was given the Most Outstanding Non-traditional Student Award. She loved music and had a beautiful singing voice and loved to dance. She could water ski with the best and was equally good on the snow. She was the Ward Choir Pianist as a teenager and later served as Primary Pianist. She loved growing up on a farm and living where she had lots of freedom to play outdoors along the creek banks, and she had many friends. She spent many years as a caregiver to her grandmother Ruth Nelson, affectionately called Ice Cream Grandma by all. Later in life, she moved to Moab where she loved and was loved by friends and colleagues. Kristin is survived by her parents James and Lynda Nelson, Ferron; children, Kaitlen Caldwell, Payson; Kourtnee Nelson, College Station, Texas; Caleb Lords, North Salt Lake; grandchildren, Bradley and Brooklynn Boren, Payson; siblings Jason (Tiffany) Nelson, Highland; Carrie (Kyle) Fox, Pleasant Grove; Erin (Kirk) Guymon, Eagle Mountain; Ryan (Lindsey) Nelson, Alpine. Preceded in death by her son James Cameron Nelson and her grandparents. Funeral services will be held Saturday December 15, 2018 at noon in the Millsite Ward at 35 West 200 North Ferron, Utah. Friends may call at the chapel from 10 to 11:30 prior to services. Interment will be in the Ferron Cemetery entrusted to Fausett Mortuary.
