Kim Earl
HUNTINGTON- Kim Earl (Pappy), age 61, passed away on February 2, 2011, at Castle View Hospital. Kim was born on March 6, 1949, to George and Mary Earl. He attended elementary and junior high in Huntington and graduated from Emery High School in 1967. He then continued his education, receiving an associate's degree from The College of Eastern Utah, a bachelor's degree from Weber State University, and a master's degree from Utah State University in 1972. He was a member of the LDS church. Kim took an active part in the community, participating in the Lions Club, the Emery County Chamber of Commerce, and the American Cancer Society. He served as a 4-H area youth agent (1972-1974) and president of the Huntington Jaycees (1979). Kim had many hobbies. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, flying, and traveling around the world. Everyone who knew Kim could always anticipate a joke or story to lighten the mood. He worked very hard and could usually be found on Huntington's Main Street where he was the owner and operator of Earl's Furniture and Appliance for 37 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children: Kimberlee (Ed) Rasbold of Price, Tim Earl of Vernal, Jeffrey (Randi) Earl of St. George, Randy (April) Earl of Cedar City, Ilene (Eric) Grant of Waco, Texas, Robert (Kathy) Baker of Huntington, John Michael Baker of Portland, Oregon, and Amanda (Maurice) Cannon of Fruit Heights; one sister, Sandra (Bennett) Gunderson of Huntington; 20 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, two nephews, and a community of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Earl, and his brother, Randy Earl.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale (720 North Center Street). Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the mortuary prior to the services. Interment will be at the Huntington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
