Keith B Harmon
Keith B Harmon, 86, of Orem, Utah, passed away quietly, Sunday, January 15, 2012 at home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born March 8, 1925 in Fairview, Wyoming. He is the son of the late Esse & Estella Harmon. He was the 7th child of 13. Jack (Lydia) Harmon, Helen (Joy) Millward, Beth Harmon, Don (Verba) Harmon, Cyril (Vernell) Harmon, James Harmon, Boyd (Venna) Harmon, Mary (Erlon) Putnam, Wynn (Helen) Harmon, Larry (Louise) Harmon, Ted (Jan) Harmon and Blair (Esther) Harmon.
He joined the U.S. Army at the age of 19 and served one year in Germany and one year in the Philippines. After returning home he served his Heavenly Father on a two-year church mission in Alberta Canada where he met his bride-to-be, Mary Louise LeBaron. They were married for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple, November 27, 1948.
After Keith & Louise married, they both attended BYU where he graduated with a teaching degree. He was employed by Granite School District where he taught 5th & 6th grade until retirement.
Keith & Louise raised six children; Ken (Carolyn) Harmon of Vancouver, WA., Dave (Geri) Harmon of American Fork, UT., Sherri (Russ) Davis of Logan, UT., Randy (Ginny) Harmon of Preston, ID., Shaunna (Brian) Thompson of American Fork, UT. & Sharla Harmon of Orem, UT.
Keith was always known for his acts of kindness and service to others and passed those values on to his children. There are so many lives that were touched by him.
Keith was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved attending the temple whenever possible. He served faithfully in multiple callings and loved teaching the principles of the gospel of Christ. From 1993 - 1995, Keith & Louise served a mission in the Little Rock Arkansas mission.
He is survived and dearly loved by his 6 children, 26 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his eternal sweetheart, Louise, his parents, brothers Don, Cyril, James, Boyd, Wynn, Jack & Blair and his sisters Beth & Helen.
The family expresses their deepest appreciation to the staff and patrons of Golden Living in Orem, Utah as well as First Choice Hospice for the love, kindness, friendships and professional services.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 20th at the American Fork 32nd Ward Chapel, 270 N. 900 E., American Fork. Viewing will be from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. with services at 11:00.
