Kathleen Wareham
FERRON- Kathleen Wareham, age 83, returned to her Heavenly Father on August 27, 2024, at home in Ferron, Utah.
Kathleen was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 9, 1941, to Frank Max and Phyllis Virginia Chapman, the oldest of three siblings.
Kathleen married the love of her life, Robert Lee Wareham on July 2, 1960, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on September 11, 1964.
Kathleen was raised in Salt Lake City where she and Lee began their family prior to moving to Ferron. She retired from the PacifiCorp Hunter Power Plant after 20 years of service. She and Lee loved serving as temple workers at the Manti temple for many years. They met many cherished friends while serving.
Kathleen enjoyed playing women’s softball and being on bowling leagues. She loved family game nights, which brought out a level of ruthlessness and competition that showcased her exuberant spirit. She enjoyed shopping and taught her daughters and granddaughters to always look for sales and to never pass up a pair of shoes you’d fallen in love with. She was an amazing genealogist who spent countless hours on research and reaching out to newfound relatives. As an avid Utah Jazz fan, Kathleen dedicated a room of her home for her Jazz memorabilia and her numerous photo’s with Stockton, Malone and Hornacek. She was affectionately known as Grammy Hammy by her grandkids, all of whom she adored.
Survived by her children, Kelly (Ken) Peterson, Gillette, WY., Kevin (Deanni) Wareham, Colette Weinstock, both of Ferron, Corey Wareham, Salt Lake City; sister, Jan Wood; brother, Max Chapman; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lee Wareham; parents, Frank and Phyllis Chapman; grandson, Kayce Jones.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Sandy and Mandy and the rest of the Symbii staff for their excellent care and compassion.
