Karon Louise Barker Griffin
HELPER- Karon Louise Barker-Griffin, long-term resident of Carbon County, left this world on Monday, January 1, 2024, at her home in Helper at the age of 64.
Karon was born in Cassville, Missouri on June 10, 1959, to Art and Nellie Anne Bay Baker.
She graduated from Carbon High School in 1977 and, after serving the community for several years working in the grocery store, went on to graduate massage therapy school in 2002. In her career, Karon specialized in massage therapy for individuals with chronic pain and injury recovery, providing relief and care to many in the local area.
Karon was a loving and devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Most days, you could find Karon reading a good book or sewing toys and blankets for her granddaughters, always with an ice-cold Pepsi in hand. She was an amazing cook and carried on her family’s legacies by cooking coveted family recipes handed down from generations. Karon loved her dogs and provided them with a safe and warm home.
Karon’s son, Jeremy Andreini, remembers Karon as a fierce protector of her children who loved them so much. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her sons. Jeremy says to Karon, “Now I know why you raised me to be strong. You knew that one day I would need the strength to bear your loss.”
Karon is survived by her sons, Jeremy (Erin) Andreini and Matthew Juliano; granddaughters, Hazel, Gianna, and Remy; brothers, Chad (Traci) Barker, Gary (Michelle) Barker; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Art and Nellie Barker; her husbands, Jerry Andreini and Wendell Griffin.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday, March 16, 2024, 11:00 a.m., Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South) in Price where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Karon’s family is accepting donations in her honor to help cover funeral costs. Thank you for your support and condolences. https://gofund.me/78e3816d
