Judy Sanderson

Wellington: Judy L Sanderson, 69, passed away on September 23, 2021 in Price, UT after a brief illness. She was born December 26, 1951, the oldest child of Alonzo and Loretta (Sutherland) Thayn. She married David Newell Sanderson in Wellington, Utah on September 12, 1970 and solemnized their marriage in the Salt Lake City temple on September 2, 1978. Judy was raised in Wellington and loved spending time in Salt Lake with her grandparents as well. She attended Carbon High and graduated in 1970, then married and left for Dave's Air Force stations in Texas, Alabama, and the Philippines before coming home to Wellington. Judy owned her own childcare business and happily helped raise countless kids through the years. She loved to attend concerts and travel, especially to Yellowstone, and she and Dave traveled to Mexico, Russia, Brazil, Africa and Italy. Judy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served faithfully in numerous callings, most notably as a scout leader for a number of years, organizing legendary outings and trips for her troop. Her greatest joys were tending to her plants and garden, getting her nails done, filling her mug with a Diet Pepsi, her massage chair, becoming a Grammie and spoiling her grandkids with the candy bag, and hitting the road in her sports car with the love of her life. She is survived by her husband David Newell Sanderson; children Brian (Beth), of Roy, Jeff (Heather), of Salt Lake City, Nathan (Erin) of Layton, Chris (Alyssa), of Holladay; and 14 grandchildren: Daniel, Joshua, Emily, Timothy, Carter, Bennett, Declan, Gage, Payton, Kaitlyn, Alice, Emmaline, Oliver and Charlie. She is preceded in death by her daughter Melissa Ann and grandson Benjamin David, father Lon and mother Loretta, mother-in-law ViEva (Timothy) and father-in-law Walter. Funeral services will be Wednesday September 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Wellington red (1st/4th ward) church at 50 N 100 E, with a brief viewing beforehand from 10:00 -10:45 AM. Viewing will be from 6:00-7:00 PM Tuesday September 28th at Fausett Mortuary at 680 E 100 S, Price. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery.
