EMERY, UTAH - Joshua James Prettyman, 31, died October 13, 2016 in Emery, Utah. He was born March 4, 1985 in Price, Utah to Martin James Prettyman and Charla Jewkes Prettyman. He married Stephanie Lynn Thacker in Emery, Utah on July 16, 2005. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 16, 2011.
Joshua was born and raised in Emery, Utah. He graduated from Emery High School. He served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Maine where he met his wife. Joshua was a diesel mechanic. He loved playing and coaching baseball. He loved horses. His favorite thing in life was spending time with his wife and children. He loved doing family things with his parents and brothers and their families. Joshua was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife Stephanie and their 4 children Hayden, Ashlynn, Zackary & Emily of Emery, Utah; his father James (Cathy) Prettyman of Emery, Utah; brothers and their families Corey (Shelly) Prettyman and their children Mikayla, Tristen, Summer & Madison of Green River, Wyoming; Branden (Jacqueline) Prettyman and their children Payton & Ashton of Grantsville, Utah; father and mother in law Bob & Michele Thaker of Winthrop, Maine; brother in law Chris Thacker also of Winthrop, Maine; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Charla Jewkes Prettyman, his step mother Carol Prettyman, grandparents Bud & Betty Prettyman and Merrill Jewkes & Louisa Barber and brother Robbie Wilson.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the Emery, Utah LDS Church, 70 North Center Street, Emery, Utah at 11:00 am. A viewing prior to the funeral on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 and the family prayer at 10:45. Burial will be at the Emery Cemetery entrusted to Fausett Mortuary of Emery County.
