Joseph Fausett

September 25, 1927 — July 11, 2015

PRICE, Joseph Bud Fausett, age 87, died July 11, 2015. He was born September 25, 1927 to Ervin and Clara Belle Smithson Fausett. He married Shirley Lue Starich on November 5, 1954 in the Manti Temple. Bud was raised in Price. At the young age of 7 he started helping on the farm. He attended Central/Harding School 1-6th grades, and Carbon High. Bud helped his dad on the farm until February 19, 1951, when he was drafted into the Army. He served his country for 2 years, stationed at Fort Warden, Washington. Upon returning home he spent his time helping his dad run the farm. After Bud and Shirley were married, they lived in town and a few years later they bought a house in Kenilworth and had it moved next door to his parents. In addition to farming, raising sheep, cows and pigs, he worked in the coal mines: Latuda, Liberty Fuel Mine, and retired from Price River Coal Company. He also worked for Jeanselme's Slaughter yard for 10 years. After he retired he worked at Builder's Specialties building tuff sheds. As the years rolled by they welcomed 4 children into their lives, starting with Danny Joe, Cindy Lue, Debby Sue, and Robbin. Bud was pretty shy but he showed his funny side more often as he aged. He was a hard worker his whole life. He taught his children the art of hard work, for which they are grateful. He had a green thumb like no other. He raised the best corn around, big pumpkins, cantaloupe, cucumbers, and the list goes on. Dad was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and was active his whole life. He served as Aaronic Priesthood Secretary, Counselor in Elder's Quorum, and High Priest Group, Ward and Membership Clerk. He volunteered many times to work in the church owned coal mine and mending fences on the church owned ground to keep the cattle in. He was always proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is survived by his children Danny Joe (Connie) Woodland Hills, Utah; Cindy (J.T) Goodrich, Orem, Utah; Debby (Rob) Farrer, La Palma, CA; Robbin (Pete) Jerich, San Tan Valley, AZ; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren with 3 more arriving this year; sisters - June, Marie, Dot (Dennis) Cole, brother - Babe (Sandra), sister-in-law - Shirley. He was preceded in death by his sweetheart Shirley, parents, brothers Don, Ted, Dee and sister Fern. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South, Price, Utah). Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 11 A.M. at the Price City Cemetery (700 N 800 E Price, Utah). We would like to thank his sisters June, Marie, and Dot for their service to him in allowing him to stay in his home as long as he did. We would like to thank "Our House" Assisted Living Center in Orem for the love, kindness, and help they rendered. We would also like to thank Intermountain Home Care and Hospice for their love, concern, and compassion in his last days. Services are under the care of Fausett Mortuary.
