Johnnie Ciarus

John E. Ciarus FERRON--John E. Ciarus, age 74, passed away September 9, 2009. John was born on January 23, 1935, in Mutual, Carbon County, Utah, to James and Yolanda Burraco Ciarus. He married Janice Fe Funk on July 22, 1972, in Ferron, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on January 17, 1976. John served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years. He was active in the LDS Church and held several positions. Some of his favorite interests were animals, traveling and ceramics as well. He is survived by his wife, Janice; four daughters: Valerie (Brent) Pierce of Huntington, Utah, Shelia (Gary) Beck of Omaha, Nebraska, Kathleen Ciarus of Minnesota, and Stephanie (Abel) Maarse of Murray, Utah; one brother, Gene (Glenda) Ciarus of Moab, Utah; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Roger Ciarus; and two brothers, Joseph Ciarus and James Ciarus. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 14, 2009, at 12:00 noon at the Millsite LDS Ward Chapel (35 West 200 North, Ferron). There will be a viewing on Monday from 10:00 - 11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Ferron City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
