Joan Money Huntington, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, at the Emery County Care Center in Ferron, Utah.
Joan was born March 23, 1932, in her family home in Palmyra, Utah to William Jex Money and Henrietta Anderson Money. She was the youngest of six children, two older sisters and three older brothers. She grew up hoeing sugar beets, putting up hay and working with cattle on the farm. After she graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1950, her first job was in the candy department of Woolworth Company in Provo, Utah. Later while working as a bookkeeper at the Provo Ice Plant, a mutual friend introduced her to LeRay Huntington. Soon after, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple on June 1, 1954. They eventually made their home in Orangeville, Utah and raised their four children. This is where they purchased the Ford Tractor Dealership which was known as “Huntington Tractor Implement Co.”
She loved the gospel and served in many church callings. When serving others, she used her gifts and talents an it was her way to go above and beyond- always going the extra mile. She served two missions with LeRay. In May of 1991 they were called to the Arizona, Phoenix Mission and in August of 1995 to Illinois, Nauvoo Mission.
Joan was devoted to her family and friends. She spent her life loving and serving them. Joan’s cooking skills were well known in the community. Some of her dishes were fried chicken, hot rolls, pies, donuts, and her famous chocolates.
She is survived by her four children, David Huntington, Orangeville, Doug (Sandra) Huntington, Orangeville, Paul (Joleen) Huntington, Orangeville, Marsha (Steven) Baker, Pinedale, Wyoming; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Preston LeRay Huntington; parents; siblings; grandson, Brady David Huntington.
