Jerry Lynn Bentley of Sandy Utah, peacefully passed away, surrounded by family and friends on June 3, 2018 at the age of 83. Jerry was born on March 7, 1935 in Price Utah to Elba and Vivian Hamilton Bentley. He was the tenth of eleven children. He graduated from Carbon High School and later joined the Army as a Radar Technician in March 1953. He served in the Korean War and spent time serving in Germany. He then married his sweetheart, Eleanor May Perez on October 4, 1956. Later they were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple February 18, 1984.
He retired from a successful 30 year career as a Communications and Electronic Technician at AT&T. After retiring he worked for an additional 5 years at Hewlett Packard and Micron. He then found great joy in driving bus for the Carbon School District for 19 years. He had great love for the community and all of the children that rode his bus.
Jerry was loved by all. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was known for always having a big smile and an even bigger heart. He loved spending time outdoors where he could hunt, fish, fix things and build things.
Jerry is survived by his wife Eleanor Perez Bentley, children Kevin (Wendy) Bentley of Price UT, Bonnie (David) Powell of Price UT, Wayne (Selma) Bentley of Sandy UT, Corena (Daniel) Bicandi of New Plymouth ID, Rick (Elia) Bentley of Sandy UT, Stevin (Yude) Bentley of West Jordan UT, sibling Colleen Adair, 19 grand children, and 23 great grand children. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Elba and Vivian Hamilton Bentley, two daughters Barbara and Brenda Bentley, siblings Ferrel Bud Bentley, Vida Keele, Floyd Bentley, Ray Bentley, Kenneth Bentley, David Bentley, Evelyn Rhodes, June Johnson, and Ellen Bates.
Under the direction of Fausett Mortuary a viewing Friday, June 8, 2018 at Fausett Mortuary, Price, UT from 6-8 pm. Funeral services Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm with viewing one hour prior at the LDS Westwood Chapel, Price, UT. Interment at Cliffview Cemetery.
