Jay Von Frandsen
Castle Dale, Utah: - Jay Von Frandsen, age 65, passed away at Castle View Hospital in Price, Utah as the result of an accident at his residence in Castle Dale on June 20, 2016. He was born April 4, 1951 to Von Jay Frandsen and Betty Fern Wilcox Frandsen in Price, Utah. He married Lorraine Humphrey September 4, 1970 in the Manti LDS Temple.
He graduated from Emery High school in 1969. Later he attended Snow College and then graduated from Brigham Young University in 1974 with a teaching major in Physical Education and a minor in Drivers Education. He worked in the coal mines for 25 years retiring in the year 2000. He enjoyed performing music and was a member of a variety of bands continuously from junior high school until he passed away. He was a skilled silversmith and had many talents including, music, flint knapping, making knives and jewelry. He also enjoyed tanning hides, hunting, looking for elk antlers and spending time with his family and animals. He spent many hours working on the family farm. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his brother Dale; grandparents, Delbert and Fern Wilcox, and Jennie and Donald Cox; sister-in-law Joy Lynn Humphrey; cousins, Judy Nichols and Tracy Wilcox.
He is survived by the love of his life Lorraine Frandsen; children, Deborah (Jason) Worley, Rebekah Hennes, Patricia (James) Byars, Jake (Amanda) Frandsen, Felicia (Chad) Nielson; parents, Von and Betty Frandsen; sister, Lori (Tom) Hardee and thirteen grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Eighth North LDS Chapel in Castle Dale, Utah. Interment will be in the Castle Dale City Cemetery.
