Jay C. Jacobsen
Emery: Jay C. Jacobsen, age 75 passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 17, 1936 one of twelve children born to Denzil and Eva Christiansen Jacobsen. His life began when he married his wife Vicky Strawn Jacobsen on August 17, 1979 in Clifton, Colorado. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple Sept. 17, 1980.
Jay was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. He was a farmer at heart and enjoyed working with his herd of cows. Jay loved the outdoors, be it working in his yard or fishing or just being with his family. Jay loved being with people, and never met a stranger. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, who loved to give hugs. His family and his grandchildren were his greatest joy.
Jay is survived by his wife: Vicky of Emery, children: Micki Jacobsen and Scott Severin of Salt Lake City, DeAnne Jacobsen of Grand Junction, Arnold "Kip" (Ora) Jacobsen of Georgia, Karen (John) Schlosser of Park City, Montana and Gail (Raymon) Cooper of Yelm, WA; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, sibling: Boyd Jacobsen of Loa, Nettie Mae Jackson of Emery, Marie Bates of Alaska and Beth Maxwell of Emery.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters, one sister-in-law and three brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Emery Town LDS Chapel( 70 N. Center). A viewing will be on Tuesday, from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Emery Town Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Friends and family may sign the guest book and share memories of Jay at www.fausettmortuary.com.
