Biography Henry Edward Maki Cleveland: Ed Maki age 84, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, in Orem, UT. He was born May 11, 1930 in Bear River, CO, to Gus and Ida Huhtaniemi Maki. He married Millie Brock on August 14, 1948 in Sunnyside, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa, AZ Temple on January 20, 1968 Ed was raised in Oak Creek, CO and graduated from Oak Creek High School in 1948. Ed was a miner by trade and began working in the mines in 1948 and continued until his retirement in 1995, he mined in New Mexico and Utah. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings, including his favorite, home teacher, he also served in the Manti Temple as a temple worker. Ed loved being in the outdoors, he especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his four wheelers. He was very talented working with wood and made many gifts for family and friends. Ed also gave freely of his time in helping others in need. Ed was a family man who always put them and their needs before his own. He will be remembered as a loving husband,who treated his wife like a Jewel, and father and grandfather. Ed is survived by his wife, Millie of Cleveland; children, Doug (Gretta) Maki of Kennewick, WA, Debra (Mike) Mack of Craig, CO, Larry (Cathy) Maki of Wilmington, OH, 20 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, David Allen Maki, grandson, Doug Maki and three brothers, Julius, Walter and Elmer. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cleveland LDS Chapel, 355 W. 100 N. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the Chapel, prior to the services. Burial will be in the Cleveland Town Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Ed at www.fausettmortuary.com.
