Gwen Johnson

September 30, 1929 — February 6, 2021

Gwen Watson Johnson, age 91, passed away at her home in Emery, Utah on February 6, 2021. She was born in Castle Gate, Utah on September 30, 1929 to Lawrence and Bernice Watson.

On June 23, 1948 she was married in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple for time and all eternity to Terry Johnson. Together for 56 years they lived, loved, worked and cared for their three sons, Kelly, David and Ralph, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 2004 her husband passed away and for the next 17 years she continued on her own to live, love, work and care for her sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, two sisters, one son, and one grandson. She is survived by one sister, one brother, two sons, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Her life was her family and her religion where she was a lifelong active member and always accepted willingly any callings, even with the challenges of her later years. Her enjoyment in life was square dancing with her husband and later line dancing with her cousin Shaunna, at age 85 ("to help entertain the old people in the nursing homes") and always her artwork where she was very proficient in all mediums, especially oils and charcoals. As she passes on she will be revered by many and missed by even more.
