Gary M. Johnson
Price, Utah- Gary M. Johnson, age 79,passed away January 10, 2015. Born August 11, 1935 to Arthur William Johnson and Julia Hulda Christensen Johnson. Married Dorothy June Oliver, his best friend, on Sept 12, 1957 in Elko, Nevada. Marriage later solemnized in 1974 at the Salt Lake Temple.
Together they had four children; Cristy, Stacey, Christian and Lezlie.
They moved from Price in 1958, lived in Layton, Cedar City, Salt Lake City and then returned to Price in 1977.
Dad worked as a machinist at the Gallager Company, Kennecott Copper, Eimco and Rio Grand Railway. He owned and operated a machine shop in Salt Lake City and Price for several years. He worked 19 years at the Hunter PacifiCorp Power Plant, where he made many good friends before retiring in 1998.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, and traveling through the beautiful countryside of Utah and Colorado with Mom by his side. Dad loved camping and fishing with his family. His fun loving spirit and strength will be missed by all who knew him. He is an amazing example to everyone who knew him of how to live a wonderful life. All of the grandchildren will always have those special memories of Papa playing baseball at the cabin. We all love him and enjoyed laughing with him. He loved making others happy and helping them enjoy life. Everyone was special to him. We loved watching Dad dance with Mom. Anyone who knew him loved him. His smile and sense of humor was contagious and we all spent hours laughing with him.
Survived by his Son; Christian (Cindy Moon) Johnson, Daughters; Cristy (John) Lewis, Stacey (Alfred II ) Iodice, Lezlie (Brian) Allred; 16 Grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Brothers; Val Johnson, Carvel "Cobb"(Bonnie) Johnson, Lee (Tammy) Johnson. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his wife; Dorothy, parents; Hulda & Art, and brother; Douglas, sisters-in-law; Thelma and June and niece; Jill.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 12:00 noon, at Fausett Mortuary Chapel (680 East 100 South Price, Utah). A viewing will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Cliffview Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
