PRICE - Florence Grames Safford Lessar Young Simmons, 93, died April 21, 2015, in Elmo, UT. She was born July 31, 1921, in Price, UT, to Albert James and Lilly B. Grames, pioneers of Carbon County.
She retired from Castleview Hospital and became a volunteer Pink Lady and Carbon-Emery Senior Citizen dancer. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including as a missionary in the Denver area and as a temple worker. She was active in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed fishing and crocheting.
Her children are Bob Safford, Magna; Larry (Julie) Safford, Cottonwood Heights; Paulette (Stan) Sykes, Magna; and Dennis Safford (deceased). She has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, stepchildren and friends who will miss her.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 12:00 pm at the Price City 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 545 East 400 North, with a viewing one hour prior. A viewing will be held Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Price Fausett Mortuary from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Fausett Mortuary in Price.
