Ethel Gibson

June 15, 1920 — January 21, 2010

Ethel Nielsen Gibson Price-Ethel Gibson age 89, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2010 in Ferron, Utah. Ethel was born on June 15, 1920 in Winter Quarters, daughter of Joseph Henry and Florence Mae Hall Nielsen. She married Elvain D. Gibson on March 22, 1937; he passed away January 31, 1965. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Ethel moved to Castle Gate at the age of 7, lived and attended schools in Carbon County all her life. She was an active member of the PTA, a member of the LDS church where she had been active in many organizations. She worked for the Carbon School lunch programs for 28 years as a worker, a manager and a supervisor for the last 12 years. She was also President of the Food Service Association. She is survived by her children: Elvain Gib (Gay) Gibson of Price, Peggy (Ken) Harrison of Roosevelt, son-in-law Arvil Johansen of Woods Cross, 5 grandchildren: Kevin, Julie, Dennis, Corey and Natalee, 2 nephews, LeRoy (Carol) Gibson and Larry (MiMi) Gibson whom she raised and many great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Ann Johansen, brothers: Sonny, Jim and Jack, sisters: Veda and Helen. To my family, special friends and Emery Care Center, thanks for the help you have given me in the last few years, I love and appreciate your help. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Price 11th Ward Chapel (300 West 500 South). There will be a viewing Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior the services at the church. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
